Extron Announces Two Input XTP Transmitters for EU and MK Junction Boxes

Anaheim, California (February 17, 2014) - Extron Electronics is pleased to announce the immediate availability of the XTP T EU 202 and XTP T MK 202, new two-input XTP transmitters in a unique form factor designed specifically to fit in EU or MK-style electrical junction boxes. The EU model is designed for use in Europe while the MK model is designed for the UK and other markets that use the MK-style junction boxes. These XTP transmitters send HDMI or RGBHV video, audio, and bidirectional control up to 100 meters over a single CATx shielded twisted pair cable. They are HDCP compliant and support computer-video to 1920x1200, including HDTV 1080p/60 Deep Color and 2K. For simplified integration, the transmitters feature automatic switching between inputs with selectable prioritization and can be powered over the same CATx cable. Designed for use in XTP Systems, the XTP T EU 202 and XTP T MK 202 provide signal distribution and long-distance transmission between remote endpoints.

"The XTP T EU 202 and XTP T MK 202 are engineered to simplify input connectivity from portable lecterns, boardroom tables, and other flat surfaces in configurable room environments."

The XTP T EU 202 and XTP T MK 202 include enhanced audio and control capabilities. They can send HDMI with embedded audio or embed audio from a separate analog stereo input prior to transmission. The transmitters allow insertion of bidirectional RS-232 and IR for AV device control at remote locations. Two Extron technologies further simplify integration with HDMI-equipped devices. EDID Minder ensures continuous EDID communication between devices. For transmission of HDMI signals with protected content, Key Minder authenticates and maintains HDCP encryption to provide quick and reliable transmission across the XTP System infrastructure.
